On August 15th 2008, the self-titled debut album from Dublin trio The Script went straight to number one in the Irish album chart. That was just one year ago… and today, August 14th 2009, the album has returned to the NUMBER ONE spot after 53 consecutive weeks in the chart. It is the third time the album has reached the number one chart position during the twelve month period!
The band have released five Top Ten airplay hits; ‘We Cry’, ‘The Man Who Can’t Be Moved’, ‘Break Even’, ‘Talk You Down’ and their latest release ‘Before The Worst’ is currently one of the most played songs in Ireland.
Speaking of their remarkable chart success while on tour in the US, the band made this comment; "We feel like all our dreams have been answered in one year, number one twice in the Irish charts.. and now this! A third time?? We’re absolutely floored!! Thanks to all our fans at home for your support, we’re nothing without you!” – Mark, Danny and Glen.
